Located in the north of Liugong village, Yangshuo County, on a valley near the Lijiang River, there are three deep pools with a diameter of about 10 meters, arranged in the shape of finished products. It is said that in order to punish an abominable landlord who lived here, the celestial immortals sank his house into an eighteen story hell, forming three deep pools. The deep green pool is the place where the main house sinks, and the deep blue yellow pool is the place where the kitchen sinks. The pool water flows into Lijiang River through underground channel, but the pool water level does not change obviously with the fluctuation of Lijiang River tide. According to the local people, if the drought lasts for a long time, the sound of gongs and drums, the sound of flute and the image of colorful flags fluttering on the water surface will be heard in the pool, which can last for about 20 minutes. It is said that when a dragon boat race was held on the Lijiang River, there was a dragon boat rowing from the Lijiang River through the Dragon Boat rock into the three deep pools, and then it disappeared into the deep pools. Therefore, the sound of gongs and drums can be heard from time to time. The legend of this strange phenomenon adds a lot of mythical color to Liugong's Sanse lake.
