Wu Han's former residence

Wu Han (1909-1969), formerly known as Wu Chunhan, was born in kuzhutang village, wudian Township, Yiwu City and a famous historian. He has successively served as professor and Dean of Yunnan University, southwest United University, Tsinghua University, and Dean of School of Arts of Tsinghua University. It was founded in 1924 by Wu binjue, the father of Wu Han. Facing south, the plane layout is concave. The main building is a two-story building, covering an area of 464.6 square meters. Wu Han spent her youth here.

The east wing was Wu Han's father's study in the old days, while the right wing was Wu Han's bedroom and study. Wu Han spent her childhood and adolescence here. Wu Han's oil paintings and a group of life photos are hung in the central hall of his former residence. On the wooden boards on both sides of the portraits, Liao Mosha's inscription in memory of Wu Han is engraved: "leave your heart to take care of history", "the article is full of hatred, and the charm is pleasing". This inscription is a portrait of Wu Han's life.

Most Chinese who have experienced the disaster of the "Cultural Revolution" will shed tears to Wu Han. A famous historian and vice mayor of Beijing, in response to Chairman Mao Zedong's call to learn from Hai Rui's upright spirit, wrote the historical play Hai Rui's dismissal. What's the crime? However, the gang of four did not let it go, and thus deliberately created an appalling injustice.

As the first celebrity to die in the disaster of "Cultural Revolution", Wu Han died early in 1969. However, history is just and its unjust imprisonment has long been redressed. The "Han Pavilion" and the former residence in Tsinghua garden inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping are two eternal monuments in people's hearts.

In 1943, he joined the China Democratic League and actively engaged in the democratic movement. After liberation, he served as vice mayor of Beijing and member of the Department of philosophy and social sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1957 and was elected vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic League in 1958. He has been engaged in the study of ancient Chinese history, especially the history of Ming Dynasty. His works include Zhu Yuanzhang, mirror of history, historical events and figures, notes on reading history, collection under the lamp, spring collection, shooting collection, learning collection, new historical drama Hai Rui's dismissal, etc.
