Siming Mountain Area in Ningbo used to be one of the 19 revolutionary bases in China led by our party during the Anti Japanese war. During the war of liberation, the revolutionary base in eastern Zhejiang, with Siming Mountain as the center, made outstanding contributions to the liberation of eastern China by the people's Liberation Army. In the winter of 1944, twelve comrades from eastern Zhejiang, including Liu Yuanlan and Li Min, died in Siming Mountain. On December 11, the local party organization and the Zhedong column of the New Fourth Army buried them in the place where they died, and set up the monument of Anti Japanese soldiers and the memorial tower of anti stubborn martyrs. In 1951, the Ningbo People's government built the revolutionary martyrs memorial tower at the original site.
