Zhujiajian Strait Bridge is a bridge connecting Zhoushan Island and Zhujiajian Island, which is designed and constructed according to the standard of secondary highway. The length of the bridge is 2907 meters, and the total length of the connecting highway of the bridge is 10.21 km. It is connected with the Puxi Section of 329 guozhoushan island in the Northwest, and the centipede zhimatou of Zhujiajian island in the southeast. With a total investment of 260 million yuan, it was started in March 1997 and put into trial operation in May 1999. It is the first super large sea crossing bridge in East China.

The expansion project of Zhoushan Zhujiajian bridge on 329 National Highway started on December 28, 2008, with an investment of 453 million yuan. The new bridge formed after the bridge expansion project is called Guanyin bridge, which was officially opened to traffic on September 13, 2011.

On the morning of December 28, 2008, the opening ceremony of the expansion project of Zhoushan Zhujiajian bridge on national highway 329 was held in Donggang, Putuo District. The "10-year-old" Zhujiajian bridge is expected to double in size after 30 months of construction. After the completion of the project, the traffic bottleneck problem of Zhujiajian bridge section will be solved, which is of great significance for speeding up the overall function development of Zhujiajian, comprehensively connecting with the bridge era, and promoting a new round of development of marine economy in our city. Liang liming, Secretary of Zhoushan Municipal Party committee and director of the Standing Committee of Zhoushan Municipal People's Congress, announced the commencement of the project. Zhou Guohui, deputy secretary of Zhoushan Municipal Party committee and mayor, made a speech. Municipal leaders Liu Aishi, Xin Haiping, Liu Guotu, Yu Jiefu and Shen Wang attended the commencement ceremony. The expansion project of Zhoushan Zhujiajian bridge on 329 national highway is approved by the provincial development and Reform Commission and listed in the annual capital construction plan of the Provincial Department of communications. The starting point of the project is near yingjiawan reservoir (K278 + 830) of national highway 329. Donggang viaduct is set along the existing national highway 329 (Xingpu Avenue), passing through Donggang Development Zone and then connecting with Zhujiajian bridge. The line of the bridge extension project is located in the north of the old bridge line, with a clear distance of 3 to 10 meters from the old bridge, and the terminal point is the original toll station of Zhujiajian bridge. The total length of the route is 4.3km, and the total length of the bridge is 3544.74m, including 808m of Donggang viaduct and 2736.74m of Zhujiajian bridge. The design standard is highway class I, and the design speed is 80 km / h. The route adopts integral subgrade, with the width of general section of 24.5m, Donggang Viaduct of 23m and new bridge of 11.75m. The navigation standard of the main navigation hole of the bridge expansion is the same as that of the old bridge, and the navigation grade is 1000 ton seagoing ships. The estimated investment of the whole project is 453 million yuan.

The total construction period of the project is planned to be 30 months, and Guangdong Changda Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. won the bid. "Guangdong Changda" has built hundreds of super large bridges, such as Humen Bridge in Dongguan, main bridge of North Channel of Hangzhou Bay Cross Sea Bridge, etc., won one Luban Award, four Zhan Tianyou awards of China Civil Engineering, and participated in the construction of Jintang Bridge, etc.

In May 1999, the first Zhujiajian bridge was completed and opened to traffic, taking Zhoushan's first step from island era to bridge era, playing an important role in the development and construction of Zhujiajian and the development of Putuo Golden Triangle tourism. However, after years of development, both sides of Zhujiajian bridge are four lane first-class highway, and Zhujiajian bridge on the national highway is two lane second-class highway, which has become the "bottleneck" of the traffic capacity of 329 national highway. The construction of the bridge expansion project will completely solve this contradiction.
