Mingyue Park, opened on July 1, 2014, is located in Jingzhou District, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, north of Jingzhou Ancient City wall and south of Jingsha Avenue. It starts from the intersection of Jingsha Avenue and Jingzhou Avenue in the East and ends at the original red brick fishing ground area of xiaobeimen gate in the West. The total planning area of Mingyue park is 21.53 square hectares, including 6.51 square hectares of green space and 11.89 square hectares of water. There are many small bridges in the park, such as qiusuo bridge, Mingyue bridge, Wangyue bridge, Longfeng bridge, etc. walking on the small bridge and shuttling on the river pond, one scene at a time, people seem to be swimming in the painting. Nature and humanity complement each other and are harmonious.

Introduction to the park

The construction of Mingyue Park follows the original historical appearance, trying to preserve the original pond and historical style, and restore the original water system, with the green land of water town as the feature, and echoes with the ancient city wall. The design elements of street lamp caps on the paths of the park are Jinfeng, the prototype of lampshade is Bianzhong, and a thousand courtyard lamps with unique Chu cultural characteristics make the whole park look antique and have the charm of Jingchu. Standing on the bank, looking at the pond, it was as if the water fir trees were growing in the water and connected with the water surface, as if the trees were growing in the water and the water was flowing in the "forest".

There are famous allusions scenic spots such as King Zhuang of Chu and Qu Yuan in the park. In January 2014, the statue of Qu Yuan, originally standing by the moat of Jingzhou Ancient City for more than 10 years, was moved to Mingyue park. After the relocation, the base of the statue facing east is 5.5 meters high, the base is 6.5 meters × 6.5 meters, and the overall height of the base and statue is 15 meters. The construction side told reporters that because the statue is huge, it is impossible to carve with a whole piece of rock, so only granite is used in the shell of the statue. At the same time, in order to make the tall statue resist the wind, all the inside of the statue is poured with concrete. These techniques allow the statue of Qu Yuan to calmly face the wind, frost, rain and snow of nature.

The construction of lotus pond in the garden also fully shows the characteristics of Jingchu. Jingzhou is known as a land of culture and a land of fish and rice. At the beginning of 2000, the Phoenix and lotus beans unearthed from tomb 2 of tianxingguan in Jingzhou vividly reflected the scene of many lotus ponds in Jingzhou's water town. People can't help but think of the poem about lotus and rhombic leaves in poet Qu Yuan's Lisao: "making lotus as clothes, gathering Hibiscus as clothes.". I don't know it's already there, but I believe in it. "

Every night, the moon park is enchanting under the light, like a jade belt embracing the ancient city wall. It is understood that the total investment of the lighting project of Mingyue park is about 4.65 million yuan. In addition to Mingyue Park, the lighting scope also includes Jiulongyuan Stone Park, which has been connected with Jinfeng square. The design concept is in line with the lighting project of Jingzhou Ancient City wall, mainly using energy-saving LED lamps, and the color is mainly warm yellow. The small bridge water inside and outside the park echoes with the ancient city wall.

Mingyue park is a wetland park with the characteristics of Jingchu water town. The landscape is composed of "one ring, two belts and four zones": the "one ring" is the main ring road of the scenic spot, "two belts" are the sculpture landscape zone in the north of the scenic spot and the Jingchu Folk Landscape Zone in the south of the scenic spot, "four zones" are the Jingchu celebrity zone, Mingyue scenic zone, love garden and Jingchu folk custom zone.

The construction project of Mingyue park is divided into three phases. After rigorous bidding procedures, Baiyun Landscaping Engineering Co., Ltd., subordinate to Jingzhou urban greening management office, won the bid and was implemented by it. In December 2012, the first phase of Mingyue Park was officially started. The main works were land leveling and planting of various shrubs and trees. The artificial planting of trees on the north sides of Henan Province was completed. In June 2013, the first phase of the project was completed, with a total of 45000 cubic meters of excavation and 83000 cubic meters of filling completed. There are 80 species of large and small trees planted in the greening project, with a total of about 10000 trees. The main species are crape myrtle, cherry, lotus, ginkgo, Magnolia, etc.

In August 2013, the construction of phase II project began. By the end of 2013, 9552.7 square meters of garden road pavement, 3324 square meters of sidewalk pavement, 8005.48 square meters of square pavement, 518 meters of pipeline embedded, 30000 cubic meters of revetment excavation, 54000 cubic meters of filling, 4643.3 cubic meters of revetment construction have been completed. 52 kinds of color blocks have been planted in greening projects, with a total of 64712 square meters. Many varieties of Rhododendron, Acorus calamus, Gardenia jasminoides, Ligustrum lucidum, acanthopanax, Phragmites australis, iris purpurea, nanyingchun and so on were planted.

The third phase of the project fully combines the terrain status of Mingyue park to carry out landscape bridge, plank road, public toilet construction and park sketch layout, improve the park traffic and service system, and strengthen the park's humanized service function. The main form of revetment is ecological revetment, and railings are set in a few areas combined with platform site. The footpath is paved with permeable bricks according to the terrain, and the road rises and falls naturally.
