Huayang Lake

Huayang lake was founded in 1958, with a storage capacity of 5 million cubic meters, a controlled drainage area of 183000 mu, a maximum depth of 69.6 meters, and a total length of 262 meters. The water is clear and sweet, the lake is deep and the fish are fat, surrounded by mountains.

The lake area belongs to Huayang Dafan scenic area, located on the Yellow Huaihe River Watershed in wumiao Township, Gushi County, Henan Province, and at the foot of Dafan, the main peak of West Jiuhua Mountain.

Huayang lake, also known as caojiazhai mountain, is located at the southernmost tip of Gushi County and the northern foot of Dabie Mountain, with an altitude of 1025.6 meters. It is the first of Gushi mountains. It is said that Hua Yang, a disciple of Laozi, an ancient Chinese thinker, practiced here and later became an immortal, hence the name of this mountain. The whole mountain is like a Yin Yang conjoined double Buddha lying in the mountains, facing the blue sky to meditate. Among them, Yang Buddha faces northwest, peaceful and quiet, forehead, eyes, nose, chest, arms and so on are clearly visible, very vivid. Close to Yang Buddha. The Great Buddha Mountain in Huayang is magnificent and precipitous, with luxuriant trees, fragrant tea and beautiful scenery. It is a natural treasure house of animals and plants in the Dabie Mountains, including Ginkgo biloba, which is known as the living fossil of plants, golden qiansong, which is unique to Henan Province, Gastrodia elata, Eucommia ulmoides, Cordyceps sinensis and other precious medicinal materials, and wild animals such as antelope, wild boar, giant salamander, white crowned pheasant, yellow edge closed turtle, Yangtze River sand cone fish and so on.

At an altitude of 1025.6 meters, it is one of the main peaks of the Dabie Mountains. It echoes with Jingangtai, the highest peak of the Dabie Mountains. It is known as "Jingang in the South and Huayang in the north", showing the majestic momentum of the gangyang in the Dabie Mountains. What's amazing is that the shape of Huayang grand Foshan is like a Yin Yang conjoined double Buddha. The Yang Buddha faces the northwest, serene and quiet, while the female Buddha faces the southeast, with open chest and open breasts. The double Buddha faces the sky, with a vivid and lifelike expression. The head, neck, chest and abdomen of Yang Buddha are 880 meters long, and the abdomen of female Buddha is 760 meters long. This double Buddha is the world's first conjoined double Buddha.
