Feng Yuxiang (1882.11.6-1948.9.1) was a famous warlord, militarist, patriotic general and famous Democrat in the period of the Republic of China. His original name was Feng Jishan and his name was Huanzhang. His ancestral home was Chaoxian County, Anhui Province (now Zhuke village, Xiage Town, Juchao District, Chaohu City, Anhui Province). He was born in Baoding, Hebei Province. He was a first-class general of the National Revolutionary Army and a sworn brother of Chiang Kai Shek.

Feng Yuxiang's former residence is composed of study, bedroom, kitchen, dining room, bodyguard room, living room and garden. Three kitchens and dining rooms were burned down by Japanese invaders in 1937, and 19 of them are now in storage.

The people's Government of Anhui Province and the people's Government of Chaohu City have allocated special funds to carry out comprehensive maintenance of their former houses, restore their original appearance, and try to collect relevant cultural relics scattered in the countryside. In 1988, on the occasion of the 106th anniversary of Mr. Feng Yuxiang's birth, the living room was opened to the public as "exhibition hall of general Feng Yuxiang's life story". Inside, there are two pictures of wanzhang inscribed by Mao Zedong and Zhu De, Zhou Enlai's birthday congratulation and Feng Yuxiang's life story, photos, handwriting, relics, etc., which systematically introduce the life of general Feng Yuxiang. There is a granite statue of Feng Yuxiang in the courtyard, and a plaque of "former residence of Feng Yuxiang" inscribed by Mr. Zhao Puchu is hanging on the front door of his former residence. In May 1989, it was announced as a provincial key cultural relics protection unit by Anhui Provincial People's government.
