Changbanpo site is located on changban Road, southwest of Dangyang city, Hubei Province. In ancient times, oak trees grew thickly on the slope of changban, so it was also called Quercus forest changban.

Site introduction

Changbanpo, a famous battlefield in the Three Kingdoms period, is a must for military strategists in the past dynasties. According to historical records, Cao Cao pursued Liu Bei here in the 13th year of Jian'an (A.D. 208) of the Eastern Han Dynasty, and his family members were besieged by Cao's army. Zhao Yun took Liu Bei's son a Dou and fought bravely to protect Liu's wife and wife from the encirclement, sparing their mother and son. In 1582, a stone tablet named "changban Xiongfeng" was erected in front of the slope. During the Anti Japanese War, the stone tablet was robbed by the Japanese invaders. The existing stele, which was imitated in 1947, is 2 meters high, 0.9 meters wide and 21 cm thick. On the front, there are four big characters "changban Xiongfeng", 35 cm in diameter. There are dragon and phoenix patterns on the top of the stone tablet. In the scenic spot, there are the antique Zilong Pavilion, the exotic flowers and plants that are like spring all the year round, and the holly trees that are more than 100 years old.
