Fengdu mountain, located on the North Bank of the Yangtze River, is 172 kilometers away from Chongqing. In the early years of the Western Zhou Dynasty, more than 2000 years ago, Fengdu belonged to the state of Ba. Zhixian County in Qin and Han Dynasties. In the second year of Yongyuan (90th year) of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was renamed Pingdu County because there was Pingdu mountain in the east of the city. In the Sui Dynasty, the first word of "fengwenba" in the Yangtze River and the word "Du" in "pingdushan" were changed to "Fengdu". There are 27 ancient temples in Mingshan. The statues of "hell" respectively simulate human lawsuits, courts, prisons, torture, etc., with peculiar design and realistic expression, reflecting the Chinese concept of God and ghost, heaven and hell. There are also inscriptions of Su Shi, Lu You, Fan Chengda and other celebrities.

The origin of famous mountain - Ancient Pingdu mountain is now famous mountain. It was renamed because Su Shi of the Northern Song Dynasty wrote a poem "Pingdu, an ancient famous mountain in the world". According to Fengdu county annals and the biography of immortals by Ge Hong of Jin Dynasty, it is said that Wang Fangping and Yin Changsheng of Han Dynasty once cultivated immortals in Pingdu mountain, so Taoists set up a Heavenly Master in this mountain and listed it as "one of the thirty-six caves and seventy-two blessed places". Later generations attached "Yin and Wang" as "Yin king", and pingdushan gradually attached "Yin capital". Fengdu, a famous historical and cultural city originated in the Han Dynasty, was known as "Kyoto, the ghost country" and "Yin Cao Di Fu" by people at that time, and became the destination of the dead. Fengdu mountain, located on the North Bank of the Yangtze River 172 km downstream of Chongqing, is the most famous cultural landscape on the golden tourism line of the Yangtze River. In December 2000, it was rated as one of the first 4A tourist areas in Chongqing by the National Tourism Administration.

Traffic information

Route 1: Chongqing Chaotianmen wharf to Fengdu wharf, ships are available at any time (please consult Chaotianmen ticket hall), 6 hours to Fengdu. Stop at Fengdu old town and get off the boat.

Route 2: there is a shuttle bus to Fengdu every hour in Chongqing's four kilometer transportation hub. The ticket price is 73 yuan (including insurance). You can get off at Fengdu new county and transfer to the urban transportation 109. The ticket price is 2 yuan (6:00 ~ 21.30) to the scenic spot.

Route 3: take the bullet train to Fengdu station at the north square of Chongqing north station, and then take bus No. 201, 202, 203 to the new County, and transfer to bus No. 109 to the scenic spot.
