Luzhou museum was established in 1984 and works with Luzhou cultural relics protection and management office, which was established in 1980. The new Luzhou Museum, built in 2000, is located at No. 37, Jiangyang West Road, with convenient transportation, beautiful environment and a construction area of 10500 square meters. It is one of the museums supported by the State Administration of cultural relics. It is the teaching practice base of the Central Academy of fine arts, Beijing language and Culture University, Sichuan Academy of fine arts and Chongqing University. It is the only famous city protection Museum among 108 National Historical and cultural cities - "Luzhou exhibition hall, a national famous historical and cultural city" and the only Jiang Zhaohe Memorial Hall in China.

Development history

Luzhou Museum has more than ten thousand cultural relics in its collection, among which the number of ancient Chinese characters and paintings is the second in the province. It has collected and displayed the Dragon Dance props of Luzhou Yutan colorful dragon, a national intangible cultural heritage masterpiece that General Secretary Hu Jintao personally "highlighted".

Since its opening, Luzhou Museum has received more than 100000 national, provincial and municipal leaders, experts and tourists every year. The main leaders of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government accompany leaders and experts at all levels to visit and inspect the museum many times every year.
