Jiuqu plank road

On the stone wall on the right side of Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan Province, there is a steep plank road circling from top to bottom to the foot of the Giant Buddha. This is the famous "Jiuqu plank road", which was dug at the same time as the construction of the Buddha statue.

During the period from October 8, 2018 to February 4, 2019, Leshan Giant Buddha will undergo a "physical examination", and Jiuqu plank road will be temporarily closed at that time.

The "Jing Bian Tu" at the first fold of the plank road is exquisitely carved with vivid images and beautiful lines. It is also engraved with buildings, pavilions and towers. It is a valuable material for studying the architecture and stone carving art of the Tang Dynasty.

The width of Jiuqu plank road is 1.45 meters and the narrowest is 0.6 meters. There are 217 stone steps. You can move back down the cliff to the foot of the Buddha.

Lingyun plank road

Lingyun plank road is known as "symphonic poem on cliff" by poets. It cuts the wall through the hole, builds up the imaginary space, hides the strange and dangerous, twists and turns, like a giant dragon rising from the sky, hidden in the cliff between the two peaks of Qiyuan and duiyue on the left side of Leshan Giant Buddha. The trestle road was excavated in early 1983 and completed in 1984. It was opened in October of the same year, with a total length of about 500 meters. The north end is connected with the Buddha, the south end is connected with bijinlou, and the Jiuqu trestle Road on the right side of the Buddha forms a zigzag tourist route. Around the Buddha's feet, through the "cave", you will arrive at the northern end of the plank road. It is said that the crown prince of the Dragon King studied in Su Dongpo's way up the mountain, so it is called "the place where the three princes live". There is a section of "one hundred step plank road" erected in the air ahead. On the cliff, there are inscriptions by Zhang Aiping, Ma Shitu and others. Walking on the suspended plank road, you can have a rest at the songyun Pavilion by climbing the steep slope of "narrow and wide" and "low and high". Songyun Pavilion 10 meters away from an independent Boulder, more than 30 meters high, known as "magic oak.". Standing on the tussah of subduing demons, the green mountains are stacked. Desert sandbars, misty smoke and frost, little boat sails are like two paintings, water hammer, Songtao, bird song reverberate in the ear like a symphony. From songyun Pavilion forward, dozens of steps to the southern end of the plank road side pavilion, named "duiyue". The pavilion was built when the plank road was chiseled. Because it is divided into upper and lower layers, it is also known as "Zi Mu Pavilion". Rest in the pavilion, head up Cangfeng screen stand, head down water leakage; looking back, plank road twists and turns. The combination of nature's creation and artificial carving is beautiful.

Baibu plank road

Ahead is a "hundred step plank road" erected in the air, with Zhang Aiping engraved on the cliff. Ma Shitu et al. Walking on the suspended plank road, you can see the surging river at your feet. After crossing the suspended plank road, you can climb the dangerous slope of "narrow and wide" and "low and high", then you can go to the songyun pavilion to think. Temporary closure of Jiuqu plank road

During the period from October 8, 2018 to February 4, 2019, the scaffold will be built to investigate the diseases of the Buddha body. In order to avoid the cross influence between the tour activities and the survey site and prevent the occurrence of safety accidents, Jiuqu plank road will be temporarily closed at that time. Tourists can not visit the foot of Buddha through Jiuqu plank road, but Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area is still open normally.
