The portrait of Chairman Mao

The statue of Mao Zedong in Tianfu Square is made of white marble, which is the only giant statue of Chairman Mao carved with white marble in China. However, due to the long-term exposure to the sun and rain, the sculpture has been cleaned and repaired more frequently. In 2013, when Chairman Mao's birthday was one hundred and two years ago, the statue was regularly cleaned four times a year.
