Ancient Buddha weir

The ancient Buddha weir was built in the 25th year of Qianlong reign. Zhang Fengzhu, the magistrate of Pengshan County, built the weir to irrigate Huayang, Renshou and Pengshan. At the head of the weir, there are 1200 meters of artificial stone canals, of which 600 meters are covered to build the neighborhood of the present ancient Buddha cave Town, and a 300 meter tunnel is passed around the mountain mouth to the South until the river mouth of Pengshan County. Up to now, 13115 mu of good farmland is still irrigated in the three counties.

Ancient Buddha weir

Gufo weir is located in Huanglongxi section of Jinjiang River in Chengdu. It was built in the 25th year of Qianlong reign. Historical evolution

According to the records of Huayang County in the Republic of China, "in the 25th year of Qianlong reign, Zhang Fengzhu, the magistrate of Pengshan County, visited the ancient Buddha cave. The water potential of Jinjiang River was slightly higher, and a weir could be built to divert water to the fields of Huayang, Renshou and Pengshan. Because of the detailed exploration and accuracy, he dug the yegui dam of the cave, so the construction was started in October of the 28th year, and completed in February of the next year. The ancient Buddha weir is built with bamboo cages and stone bars, leading the Fu River into the canal from the right bank, passing through luojiazhongba for about one kilometer to the outlet of dongguapaihaogou; it flows southward for more than 20 meters, passing through more than 1200 meters of artificially excavated stone canals on the continuous crags, of which about 600 meters are covered and built into a neighborhood (commonly known as qijiegou), It flows southward for hundreds of meters, turns westward, flows through the stone canal and a section of tunnel for more than 400 meters, goes southward around the mouth of jiqiguai mountain, reaches Huangfen mountain through the open area of jiahezhuang, and then goes through the tunnel for 300 meters and the stone canal for more than 700 meters (average depth of 7 meters) to the Pingba of Huanglongxi. Later, it winds along the foot of Muma mountain to the river mouth of Pengshan County. The weir initially irrigated 11916 mu of farmland, including 1716 mu in Huayang County, 3700 mu in Renshou County and 6500 mu in Pengshan County. In the 28th year of the Republic of China, the irrigation area was reduced to 4186 Mu due to disrepair, including 700 mu in Huayang County, 1596 mu in Renshou County and 1890 mu in Pengshan County. It was restored to 11972 mu in 1954 and expanded to 13115 mu in 1960.

Flood control

Today, the levee at the outlet of Gufo weir has become a deep channel due to the scouring of torrent, and the flood control situation of this reach is very serious. In order to thoroughly renovate the levee, the County Water Affairs Bureau commissioned the engineering design and Research Institute of Sichuan University to carry out the design according to the flood control standard of 5-year return period. The flood dike is built from the exit of Gufo weir, which can not only touch the ancient weir, but also strengthen the dam. A permanent flood dike of 300 meters will be built in Dongyue Village, a permanent slope protection of 300 meters will be built in Zhongba village, and the height of the dam along the bank is about 6 meters, which can resist the sediment on both sides of the river in flood season
