Qudang Township

Qudang Township, Dingri County, Xigaze City, Tibet is a township under the jurisdiction of Dingri county. Qudang township was built in 1961, located in the west of the county government, 123 kilometers away from the county government. Qudang township is surrounded by mountains, including Mt. Qomolangma (the east slope), Mt. Luozi, etc. Qudang Township and zhaxizong township are the core areas of Mt. Qomolangma Nature Reserve, because: the north of Mt. Qomolangma is in China, the east slope belongs to Qudang Township, and the west slope belongs to zhaxizong township.

This is the main area of climbing Mt. Everest. There is the base camp of Mt. Everest. Qudang township is in the lower reaches of pengqu. In the southwest is gamagou, and in the south is chentanggou.

These abrupt mountains and high mountains constitute the most magnificent natural landscape and are ideal places for tourism, exploration and scientific investigation.

Economic situation

Qudang township is mainly agricultural, planting highland barley, peas, wheat and so on. The cultivated land is mainly distributed in pengqu River Valley, which is formed by alluvial development, with less gravel and a large area of flat land. The terrain is relatively flat, ranging from 2 ° to 6 °. Slope, easy to cultivate and irrigate, basically can meet the requirements of irrigation and income. The cultivated land in the mountains on both sides and the valley of the tributary of pengqu river is mainly irrigated land distributed on the alluvial plain, flood slope, inclined plain and low hillside, and some of them are dry land. The terrain is slightly higher and the slope is about 15 degrees. There are also many gravels, which affect the cultivation and irrigation to a certain extent. In the early 1990s, with the increase of Tibet's reform and opening up, more and more tourists came to Mount Qomolangma. With the establishment of the National Nature Reserve of Mount Qomolangma, tourism here developed rapidly.

East slope of Mt. Everest: Qudang Township and zhaxizong township are the core areas of Mt. Everest Nature Reserve (Chentang town in the East, rongha Township, Zhangmu town and Jilong town in the West), because the north of Mt. Everest is in China, the east slope belongs to Qudang Township, and the west slope belongs to zhaxizong township.

Main body of gamagou: gamagou is mainly located in Qudang Township, and its bottom is in Chentang town.

Upper part of chentanggou: chentanggou starts from the lower reaches of pengqu in Qudang Township and enters Chentang Town, with its main body in Chentang town.

Therefore, gamagou and chentanggou actually span Qudang Township and Chentang town.
