The terrain is complex and diverse, including the peaks of Gangdese mountain, the majestic scenery of Yajiang river source, and the rich grassland in the north and south.

The lake anglarencuo is a brackish water lake. The lake water is supplied by ice and snow melt water. The rivers into the lake are amaozangbu, jiaburi azangbu and junzangbu, with a catchment area of 12.81 square kilometers. The lake is 4.689 meters above sea level and covers an area of 560 square kilometers. The average water depth is 18.3 meters and the water storage capacity is 10.26 billion cubic meters.
