Dongtai Museum

Dongtai museum is a local comprehensive public welfare full funding unit, under the Dongtai Municipal Bureau of culture, broadcasting and information. The museum is located in the historical and Cultural Museum of Dongtai City. It was founded in 1958 and rebuilt in 1986.

The Municipal Museum is also in charge of the daily opening and management of the historical and cultural exhibition hall, Yifeng garden, GE Gongzhen memorial hall, Zhou Weizhi Wang Kun Art Museum and Zhang Jian Memorial Hall.

Jurisdictional subordination

The museum was established in March 1986. It belongs to Dongtai Culture Bureau. Former residence of Ge Gongzhen

Dongtai museum was founded in 1958 and rebuilt in 1986. It was built in the former residence of Ge Gongzhen (Dongtai Cultural Square), a municipal cultural relics protection unit in Yancheng City, Lanxiang lane, Dongtai.

Yifeng Garden

In March 2003, Dongtai City Museum moved its residence to Yifeng garden. Yifeng garden is located at No. 8, Ming and Qing Street. It has the former residence of Huang Yifeng, a municipal cultural protection unit in Yancheng, Zhengqi building, Liufang Pavilion and other buildings. Dongtai historical and Cultural Museum

In September 2012, Dongtai City Museum moved to the city historical and cultural museum. The historical and cultural museum was built in 2010, covering an area of 16000 square meters, with a construction area of 8000 square meters and a total exhibition area of 3100 square meters. The main content of the exhibition is the characteristic culture and historical culture of Dongtai.

Collection treasures

There are more than 6000 pieces of cultural relics in Dongtai Museum from the Neolithic Age to the Republic of China. There are more than 1000 pieces of cultural relics from the kaizhuang Neolithic Age site in Qindong and the archaeological excavation of Yantong expressway, including 11 first-class cultural relics, 15 second-class cultural relics, and more than 100 third-class cultural relics. There are also famous calligraphy and paintings, ceramics, bronzes, etc.

Ms. Wang, a citizen of Dongtai City, donated a set of Kangxi dictionary to Dongtai City Museum for free. According to experts, Kangxi dictionary has been handed down to more than 10 editions. Ms. Wang donated a complete set of 6 copies, which were printed in paper, ink and string. It was printed by Shanghai Dianshizhai in the 15th year of Guangxu period, 118 years ago.

Dongtai historical and Cultural Museum

The first floor is the brand exhibition of Dongtai culture and art, namely the three art town exhibitions of the hometown of Chinese hair embroidery art, the hometown of Chinese calligraphy and painting art, and the hometown of Chinese children's Erhu art. 2、 On the third floor is the Dongtai historical and cultural exhibition with the theme of "sea charm and salt soul". The exhibition shows the 5000 year history of Dongtai civilization. With salt culture as the main line, it eulogizes Dongtai ancestors' struggle with nature and shapes Dongtai people's wisdom, openness, tolerance and perseverance.

The temporary exhibition hall is divided into the first hall and the second Hall. The total number of exhibits in each issue is about 200, which is characterized by a large number of original objects, local unearthed cultural relics, calligraphy and paintings of local celebrities, with local characteristics, strong persuasion and appeal, and very popular. Every year, Dongtai City Museum will undertake fine exhibitions both inside and outside the province to serve the masses, such as "flower and bird delight - Changshu Museum flower and bird album Exhibition", "Changzhou Museum butterfly exhibition", etc.

The museum has 481 pieces of various collections. Calligraphy and painting collection is more, for local celebrity works. The cultural relics unearthed in this area, as they used to be old-fashioned areas, also contain some revolutionary cultural relics with local characteristics.

World rare birds Exhibition

In order to enrich the summer life of the minors in our city, meet the needs of the masses' cultural life, let the people enjoy all kinds of cultural relics exhibition at home and enjoy the cultural feast. Recently, the city museum has carefully organized the "2013 provincial collection of cultural relics exhibition" Dongtai tour. This tour is Changzhou museum's "sky high let birds fly - world rare birds" exhibition. The exhibition time is from August 18 to September 8, 2013, 9:00-11:00 a.m. (no rest on Saturdays and Sundays)

More than 80 specimens of 64 species of birds at home and abroad were exhibited in this exhibition, including the free bird of paradise, the auspicious and festive red bellied pheasant, the elegant swan, and many rare birds at home and abroad, such as the red bellied horned pheasant and the hornbill. It is hoped that this exhibition can stimulate the interest of the audience in birds, deepen the understanding of wild birds, and contribute to the construction of a beautiful and harmonious ecological environment.

World's Best butterfly

In order to help the audience, especially young people, have a comprehensive understanding of insect knowledge, make rational use of and protect butterfly resources, improve people's appreciation level of rare and famous butterflies, and enrich their spare time life. During the Mid Autumn Festival and national day in 2013, Dongtai Museum, after careful preparation, launched a special popular science exhibition "world top quality butterfly exhibition". This exhibition focuses on 101 representative and exquisite butterfly species from all over the world, including national butterflies from the United States, Japan, Malaysia and other countries; unique ornamental butterflies such as sun flash butterfly, digital butterfly, owl butterfly; and many rare butterflies listed in the international or domestic protection list, such as goddess of light butterfly, golden beaked Papilio butterfly, golden green bird wing butterfly.

Changshu flower and bird album Exhibition

The theme of this exhibition is Changshu flower and bird artist album, with a total of 60 works of 8 painters on display. The exhibition brings together the works of Ma Yuanyu, a disciple of Yun Shouping, Yu Sheng, a court painter of Qianlong Dynasty, Xi Peilan, a disciple of Yuan Mei, Chen Mo, a teacher of Lu Yifei and other famous artists.

Appreciation of blue and white porcelain

The first Cultural Relic Appreciation lecture hall of Nanjing Museum, blue and white porcelain appreciation training activity, has come to an end. This training invited researchers from Nanjing Museum and responsible appraisers from Jiangsu Administration Office of national cultural relics entry and exit audit to teach Dongtai cultural relic lovers the knowledge of blue and White Porcelain Appreciation on June 29 and 30, 2013.
