Zhucheng Dinosaur Museum

Zhucheng Dinosaur Museum, located in Zhucheng, Shandong Province, was founded on May 9, 2001. It is the first county (city) level Dinosaur Museum in China, displaying the world's tallest giant hadrosaur fossil skeleton and more than 100 dinosaur fossils.

Dragon Museum (Zhucheng Dinosaur Museum). The national 4A tourist attraction, with a construction area of 5400 square meters, displays the world's tallest duck billed dinosaur fossil skeleton - "giant Zhucheng dragon" (9.1 meters high and 16.6 meters long), which is praised as "the world's first dragon" by Chinese and foreign experts. On display are the world's largest "giant Zhucheng Tyrannosaurus Rex" and the most primitive "Zhucheng Chinese Horned Dragon" and other fossil skeletons, as well as dinosaur skeleton fossils, egg fossils and other representative dinosaur fossils. The huge dinosaur femur fossils collected in Shenmiao Longgu hall are known as "the first exotic bone in China". It has received more than 30 national leaders, many social celebrities and millions of Chinese and foreign tourists.

Development history

Zhucheng dinosaur museum is subordinate to Zhucheng Construction Committee. It is located in the west of Mizhou road and the east of dinosaur park. It was founded in 1995.

Completed on July 1, 1997, with a construction area of 5400 square meters and a total investment of 30 million yuan. Designed by Sichuan urban and rural planning and Design Institute, the museum is the largest dinosaur museum in northern China with unique architectural style. It looks like eight giant dragons embracing each other from the top, giving people a sense of take-off; it looks like the pyramid of ancient Egypt from the top.

The museum has a prelude hall, a specimen hall, a simulation hall, a mounting hall, a lecture hall and a ring screen movie hall. The prelude hall, the specimen hall and the ring screen cinema have been opened. The museum displays the world's tallest duck billed dinosaur, the giant Zhucheng dinosaur (9.1 meters high and 16.6 meters long), some other dinosaur fossils and dinosaur eggs; the ring screen cinema shows the film "Dragon City Scenery" invested by Zhucheng government to reflect the appearance of Zhucheng.

There are six halls in the Dinosaur Museum: a prelude hall with a large stone mural of dinosaur life scene at the entrance; a specimen exhibition hall with the largest hadrosaur fossil skeleton in the world, and nearly 100 new dinosaur fossil specimens of genera and species; a simulation hall with different sizes and shapes; an excavation hall with "original flavor" reflecting dinosaur excavation The lecture hall is an important base for scientific researchers to carry out academic exchanges at home and abroad and carry forward the dinosaur culture of the motherland. Dinosaur museum is a lively art palace integrating knowledge, scientific research and entertainment.

Jiqing south line - get off the expressway at Zhucheng exit - drive along national highway 206 to Mizhou road - turn left and northbound along the eastbound of Mizhou road for about 1.5 km to reach the scenic spot. It takes about 20 minutes to get off the expressway.
