Zhumadian Forest Park, now called land park, was built in 1994.

brief introduction

Zhumadian Forest Park, after ten years of comprehensive planning and construction by the garden department, has now formed 706 mu of forest land and 108 mu of water surface, with a forest coverage rate of 90%. There are more than 30 species of trees, such as Ginkgo biloba, Cedrus deodara and Metasequoia glyptostroboides, which effectively improve the local microclimate, form a good ecological environment, and attract a variety of birds to settle here. According to park managers and businesses operating here, egrets, wild ducks, Thrushes, magpies, cuckoos, turtledoves, etc. are often seen, even owls, and some of them watch strange and nameless birds playing in the trees. Every morning, all kinds of birds in the forest area of the park call one after another, and the beautiful sound reverberates in the morning wind, which is very pleasant.

The forest park management office has formulated a variety of measures to protect birds, and insists on patrolling in the forest area 24 hours a day. It is strictly forbidden for visitors to catch and scare birds, climb trees, destroy bird nests, dig out bird eggs, etc. In order to provide a safe habitat for birds, the Municipal Forestry Department organized children from kindergartens directly under the municipal government to set up nests in the forest park this spring. Now, all of these nests have been inhabited by birds. Walking under the tree, you can see birds coming out of the nest.
