Xuzhou Huaihai battle Martyrs Memorial Tower Garden

The Huaihai Campaign Memorial Tower is located in the eastern foot of Fenghuang in the southeast suburb of Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It was approved by the State Council in April 1959 and completed in 1965. The height of the tower is 38.15 meters. The top of the tower is carved with a five pointed star, rifle and pine seed ribbon. The front of the tower is inlaid with the gold-plated characters of "Huaihai battle martyrs memorial tower" inscribed by Chairman Mao that year. The front of the tower is engraved with gold-plated inscriptions, which record the historical process of the Huaihai Campaign and the heroic deeds of the martyrs and the masses who bravely supported the front line. The memorial needs to climb these steps. When it rains heavily in summer, due to the special design angle at that time, from the bottom of the steps, we can see that the rain forms a water curtain kilometers away, and the rain flows down the steps. Located in the memorial tower of the martyrs of the Huaihai Campaign, the five statues are Liu Bocheng, Chen Yi, Deng Xiaoping, Su Yu and Tan Zhenlin, the five general committee members of the Huaihai Campaign.

Huaihai Campaign panorama, the largest panorama in the world, is also on display in the new Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall adjacent to the memorial tower. It was created by a professor of Lu Xun Academy of fine arts for five years. After nearly 200 days of on-site production in the memorial hall, the work is 18.5 meters high, 144 meters long and 50 meters in diameter after hanging. Panoramic painting is composed of two parts: huge background painting and three-dimensional space. Visitors can enjoy the changing scene as long as they sit in a slowly rotating position.

Xuzhou Huaihai Campaign Martyrs Memorial Tower Garden covers an area of 1200 mu, with five major buildings, namely, Huaihai Campaign martyrs memorial tower, Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall (New Hall), Huaihai Campaign stele forest, Huaihai Campaign General Front Committee group sculpture and national defense park. In addition, there are 10 scenic spots such as Suyu ashes scattering place, Hu Yaobang tree planting place and Youth Lake.

Xuzhou Huaihai Campaign Martyrs Memorial Tower Garden has been approved by the State Council, the Central Propaganda Department and other departments as the national key martyrs memorial building protection unit, the national patriotism education base, the first national patriotism education demonstration base, the national primary and secondary school patriotism education base. Now it is a national AAAA tourist attraction.
