General Peng Xuefeng Memorial Hall

General Peng Xuefeng memorial hall is located in Xiayi County, Shangqiu City, Henan Province, China. It is the place where general Peng Xuefeng died in battle. The memorial was completed in October 1985, covering an area of 3150 square meters and a building area of 430 square meters.

In January 2017, general Peng Xuefeng memorial hall was listed in the list of national Red Tourism classic scenic spots.

History of building the Museum

General Peng Xuefeng memorial hall is located in Balizhuang village, 17 km northeast of Xiayi County, Shangqiu City, Henan Province, China. It was built to commemorate Peng Xuefeng, commander and political commissar of the fourth division of the New Fourth Army, who died on September 11, 1944.

It was built in 1982 and completed on October 15, 1985. Yang Shangkun, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and executive vice chairman of the CMC, Zhang Zhen, deputy chief of the general staff of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, and some leaders of provinces, prefectures and counties attended the ceremony.

Layout Exhibition

The memorial hall of general Peng Xuefeng covers an area of 3150 square meters and a building area of 430 square meters. In the museum, the pines and cypresses are green, and the entrance is a striking stele. On the front is engraved with "where general Peng Xuefeng died for his country" and on the back is engraved with Peng Xuefeng's life story. In the center is a bust of general Peng Xuefeng. On the front of the base is engraved with five big characters "general Peng Xuefeng" inscribed by defense minister Zhang Aiping. There are also "exhibition hall of Comrade Peng Xuefeng's deeds", "former site of the headquarters of the fourth division of the New Fourth Army" and "parking place for general Peng's remains". General Peng Xuefeng's life-long fighting experience and 240 pictures are displayed in the exhibition room, as well as inscriptions by Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Peng xuehuai, Chen Yi, he long, Li Xiannian and other party and state leaders. The cultural relics in the museum are well preserved and are the key cultural relics protection units at the provincial level.

Profile

Comrade Peng Xuefeng, one of the 33 strategists confirmed by the CPC Central Committee, is a famous young general of our party and army. He is an excellent statesman and strategist with both political integrity and ability, wisdom and courage. Since 1925, he has devoted himself to the revolution. For 20 years, he has been "loyal to the party, going to the soup for the people" and "devoted to the motherland, and has been praised by the people". He wrote a magnificent chapter in the history of Chinese revolution. Mao Zedong, Zhu De and other proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation are praised as "Chinese national heroes" and "good examples of Communists".

On September 9, 1907, comrade Xuefeng was born in a poor farmer's home in Qilizhuang, Zhenping county, Henan Province. During the great revolution, under the influence and education of the party, he accepted Marxism Leninism and joined the May 30th Movement. He joined the Communist Youth League in May 1925. He was transferred to the Communist Party in September 1926. Jiji was engaged in the academic movement, agricultural movement, military movement and organized to participate in the Nanyuan uprising in Beijing. He became a famous leader of student movement and leader of underground party in Dongcheng District of Beijing. In May 1930, he was ordered to work in the Red Army, and successively served as political commissar, branch leader, division class committee member, division commander of the Red Army brigade, political commissar of Jiangxi military region, director of the first Bureau (combat Bureau) of the Central Military Commission, column commander, etc. In the battle, he took the lead, climbed Changsha City for the first time, killed the enemy Loushanguan, went straight down to Zunyi City, crossed Chishui River, Jinsha River and Dadu River, marched into Tianquan City, climbed Dagu Mountain, passed the prairie and fought hard in Zhiluo town. The troops under his command were often vanguards with outstanding achievements. He became a famous young general of the Red Army.
