Longhu town

Longhu town is subordinate to Xinzheng City, Henan Province. It is located in the north of Xinzheng City, adjacent to Mengzhuang town in the East, Xinmi City in the west, Guodian town in the South and Guancheng District in Zhengzhou in the north. It is 12 kilometers away from Zhengzhou railway station and 15 kilometers away from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport. Longhu town was ranked 86th among the top 1000 towns in 2016, and was recognized as a national economically developed town in 2018.

With a total area of 96 square kilometers and a town area of 19 square kilometers, it governs 28 administrative villages, 116 natural villages and 217 villager groups.

Longhu town is located in the transition zone from hills to plains, which belongs to the north temperate monsoon humid climate zone. The western part of the town is rich in mineral resources.

There are some historic sites in the territory, such as the tomb of Li Jie, the founder of the construction industry, the tomb of Peidu, the Prime Minister of the Tang Dynasty, and the stone pagoda of King Jing.

Historical evolution

In 1953, Zheng county was assigned to Xinzheng as the seventh district. In December 1955, Xiaoqiao district was divided into two central townships, Xiaoqiao and Shanxi Qiao. In December 1956, it was divided into three townships: linjindian, Gucheng and Jingwang. In May 1958, it was divided into two townships, linjindian and Qiaoshan. Xiaoqiao commune was established in August 1958. In July 1961, Xiaoqiao commune was abolished and merged with Guodian commune to form Guodian district. In April 1963, Xiaoqiao commune was restored. In April 1983, it was changed to township. In 1994, the township was removed to build a town, which was renamed Longhu town. In 1997, with an area of 97 square kilometers and a population of 53000, it has jurisdiction over 28 administrative villages including Xiaoqiao, baishuliu, Jingzhuang, shawoli, cuidong, zhenglaozhuang, Zhengbao, linjindian, Weizhuang, Lidong, dongzhangzhai, Xiaoqiao, Jingwang, Liukou, Wangkou, Taishan, shanxiqiao, shanhoudu, Zhanggou, Gucheng, caiyuangou, yuzhai, Meishan, xizhangzhai, wangxu, Dongxu, Houzhuang and Guojiazhuang.
