Longwan Geopark

Longwan Geopark is one of the five major scenic spots in our district. It is a part of the agricultural leisure and tourism area around jianlai mountain. It is located 30 kilometers southeast of Mount Tai, at the north foot of beautiful jianlai mountain and in Huamawan township. It is a part of jianlai Mountain National Forest Park. Beijing Shanghai Expressway passes through the park, covering an area of about 110 square kilometers. The geological relics in the area are very rich. Apart from the different shapes of granite peaks and rocks, there are also the remains of Longwan collapse geological disaster, which is a holy land for Geoscience popularization and tourism.

Introduction to scenic spots

Longwan Geopark has been famous for its "majestic, strange, spiritual and dangerous" since ancient times. Its valleys are deep and its walls are very steep. There are well-known Archean greenstone belt Taishan Group Liuhang formation stratotype section, Neoarchean Fuping Mengshan super unit gneissic tonalite, gneissic trondhjemite and other tTG rock series. In 2006, it was listed as a provincial key Nature Reserve in Shandong Province. The unique climate and geographical environment of jianlai mountain has nurtured a large number of animal and plant resources. There are many birds. Among the fish, Taishan red phosphorous fish, which is known as "Wenhe River" Purple brocade scale, is a unique and precious species.
