Dongda town

Dongda town is located in the west of Dongda sub district office, Chang'an District, Xi'an City, 21 kilometers away from the city. It has jurisdiction over one neighborhood committee and 22 administrative villages. Fenghe River, Taiping River and Gaoguan river flow through the countryside from south to north. Xitai highway, Huanshan highway and luandong highway meet in the territory. It is rich in geothermal resources, including hot spring bath, gaoguanyu waterfall and Xiangyu tourist resort.

Administrative evolution

It was Dongda Township and Luohandong Township in 1950, Dongda commune and Xiangyu commune in 1962, and Dongda Township and Xiangyu commune in 1984. In 1996, Dongda Township, with an area of 19 square kilometers and a population of 23000, governed 11 administrative villages including Guonan, Guobei, TAIPINGHE, Dongda, Xida, Beida, luojiazhuang, Nanqiang, Beiqiang, suozhuang and Qingzhen; Xiangyu Township, with an area of 131 square kilometers and a population of 10000, governed Guanshan machinery factory, two family committees of 623 Research Institute, luohantong, Xinlian, Dasi, Muzhuping, xiangyukou, xiangyugou and Jiangqing South, Jingjia, Shuimo, dongshilitou, nanshilitou, beishilitou 12 administrative villages.

In 1998, Dongda township was abolished and Dongda town was established. In 2002, Xiangyu township was merged into Dongda Town, with jurisdiction over 23 administrative villages, namely suozhuang, Dongda, Xida, Beida, Nanqiang, Beiqiang, luojiazhuang, Guonan, Guobei, TAIPINGHE, Qingzhen, dongshilitou, xiangyukou, Xinlian, Jingjia, Jiangnan, beishilitou, Luohandong, Dasi, Muzhuping, Shuimo, xiangyugou and nanshalitou, with administrative code of 610116113.
