Sanmenxia Yellow River dam scenic spot

Sanmenxia Dam scenic spot is located in the northeast of Sanmenxia City, Henan Province. It is adjacent to Shanxi Province in the north and Shaanxi Province in the west, known as the "Golden Triangle" in western Henan. Sanmenxia Dam, which is 30km away from the urban area, was born in 1957. It is the first large-scale water conservancy project built in the main stream of the Yellow River in China, and is known as "the first dam of the Yellow River". The main dam of Sanmenxia is a concrete gravity dam with an installed capacity of 400000 kW, a total length of 875.2m and a maximum dam height of 106m. It stands majestically between Sanmen Gorge of the Yellow River. It is a combination of scenic spots and cultural landscape. According to legend, Dayu dredged the river course during his flood control and "chopped three gates" to form Shenmen Island, Guimen island and Renmen Island, so it is called Sanmenxia. It is said that it is the "mainstay" of the Chinese national spirit and stands erect in the stormy waves In addition, there are many places of interest, such as the ancient plank road of the Yellow River, Zhanggong Island, dressing table and so on.
