Alpine Island

Gaoshan Island stands to the west of the central part of the long island, with an altitude of 204 meters. It is the highest of the 32 islands in Long Island. It is like a giant horn protruding on the water. There are steep cliffs around the island, but there is a small pebble beach in the southeast, and the mountain behind the beach is still very steep. Physical features

The shape of Gaoshan island in Tuoji Town, Changdao County, Yantai, Shandong Province is like a right triangle. The steep cliff is 90 degrees, and the back slope of the cliff is nearly 45 degrees. You can reach the top of the mountain along the zigzag Yangchang curve. At an altitude of 202.8 meters, it can be said that the peak is piercing the blue sky and the cliff is leaning. It is known as the "Mount Everest" of the islands in northern China. On the sea level, it is unique, in the surrounding islands, it is dangerous and powerful, giving people a strong visual impact.

Geological characteristics

Gaoshan island is named for its high mountain, with an altitude of 202.8 meters. Its mountain is the highest in Changdao and is located in the north of Miaodao. To call it an island is actually a mountain pulled up from the vast blue sea. According to the research of geological experts, it is a half split steep shape formed by the uplift of the crust caused by the Yanshan tectonic movement and Himalayan orogeny more than 100 million years ago. Climbing high and looking far, the sea and the sky are wide, and the feeling of "climbing the tower, forgetting both the favor and the disgrace" suddenly comes into being. Short sighted, blue sea, green hills, gull capital, a panoramic view of 32 islands, a panoramic view of Long Island.

In the northeast corner of the island, there are two abrupt reefs, one high and one low, about 39 meters high and 30 meters low. From a distance, they look like two sails on the sea. They are called Shifan reef, also known as sister peak. Fishermen call it "two masts". In the southwest corner of Gaoshan Island, there is a 50 meter long sea erosion cave called "Suolong cave". It is said that this is the place where immortals punish the Third Prince of the Dragon King. The cave is connected back and forth. It is deep and long. When the waves rush in, it will make a deep and dignified "buzzing" sound. The southwest corner of Gaoshan island is the steepest place in the whole island, which is called "Motianling". The wonderful thing is that the high and steep cliff suddenly hangs up at the bottom, supported by four thick stone pillars. One corner of Gaoshan island is divided into four holes, which are connected. From any angle, it looks like the shape of elephant trunk, which is called "elephant trunk hole". Alpine island is also a paradise for birds, which can be called "the second island of ten thousand birds". The beautiful scenery of the high mountain island can be summed up in such a poem: "the mountains are uneven, the smoke is thin, the mountains are surrounded by water clouds", "the sea is surging in the south, the peaks are green in the north".
