Shanhaiguan scenic spot

The best in all the land of China is Shanhaiguan, also known as "Yu Guan", located 15 kilometers northeast of Qinhuangdao. It is the essence of ancient the Great Wall, one of the Northeast pass of Ming the Great Wall. It was considered to be the starting point of the eastern part of Ming the Great Wall before 1990, and it is called "the first pass in the world". It echoes the Jiayuguan pass thousands of miles away and is famous all over the world. Shanhaiguan City, about 4 kilometers in circumference, is connected with the Great Wall. The city is 14 meters high and 7 meters thick. It has four main gates and a variety of defensive buildings. In 1961, Shanhaiguan was declared as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council of the people's Republic of China. In 2001, the State Council listed Shanhaiguan as a national historical and cultural city tourist attraction. Six scenic spots, including "laolongtou", "mengjiangnu Temple", "Jiaoshan" and "the first pass in the world", are open to Chinese and foreign tourists and are well-known at home and abroad.
