The former site of Hubu Mint covers an area of 31916 square meters. It was originally a multi entrance courtyard, with east-west arrow path, brick and wood structure and hard mountain top. The main room is five rooms wide in the west, with a front porch or "hook and take" style. The wing room is three rooms wide in the west, and the plane is mostly concave. The entrance brick gate building and brick carvings still exist. At present, there are only 70 bungalows left, with the word "Mint general" on the forehead, written by Wu Dingchang.
In September 1903, the construction of Tianjin bank general factory was started on Dajing Road (now 137 Zhongshan Road), which was called "East factory". The former Beiyang Yinyuan Bureau, known as "Xichang" (East Bureau of Hedong District), was completed in May 1905. Because it is directly under the Ministry of household, so the original "Tianjin silver money General Factory" is named as the Ministry of household "Mint General Factory". In 1909, the Qing government reorganized the national copper coin Bureau, and the right of coinage belonged to the central government. The mints were divided into nine branches, and Tianjin was the main factory. The regulations of mints were issued to prevent forgery. So far, Tianjin's Hubu Mint became the national currency manufacturing center.
