It was built in the fourth year of the Ming Dynasty (1439). The site is the southwest corner of the inner city. Most of the city bricks were demolished during the "Cultural Revolution" because they were in disrepair and gradually collapsed, leaving only more than 100 meters of remains. In 1987, the Municipal Bureau of cultural relics and Xicheng District government allocated 1.5 million yuan to demolish illegal buildings and temporary residents, repair the city wall, retain seven section relics, repair the old buildings, transform the surrounding environment and carry out greening and beautification, so as to make it another landscape in Beijing where modern civilization and ancient culture blend.
