Located in the courtyard of Beijing Academy of painting, Chaoyang District, Beijing, the Art Museum of Beijing Academy of painting is adjacent to the beautiful Chaoyang Park. Together with Beijing Workers' Stadium and China Agricultural Exhibition Hall, it forms the public cultural facilities in the East District of Beijing. The Art Museum of Beijing Academy of painting opened in September 2005. With a construction area of 4600 square meters and four exhibition halls, the exhibition area is 1167 square meters.

The Art Museum of Beijing Academy of painting has set up the Qi Baishi memorial hall, which mainly collects, displays and studies Qi Baishi's paintings and calligraphy. The works of Qi Baishi collected by Beijing Academy of painting are divided into ten series of special topics, which are displayed one after another and have achieved good social benefits. Nowadays, Beijing Academy of painting and Beijing Academy of painting art museum have become an important window to study Qi Baishi's art and carry forward Qi Baishi's culture. Since 2007, the Art Museum of Beijing Academy of painting has launched a series of exhibitions of Chinese art masters in the 20th century in a planned and step-by-step manner. More than 40 special exhibitions have been held, such as Li Hu, Li kuchan, Li Keran, Wu Zuoren, Jiang Zhaohe, Dong Xiwen, Pang Xunxiu, Zhou Sicong, Huang Zhou, etc., which have produced great social repercussions. At the same time, the Art Museum of Beijing Academy of painting also pays attention to the development trend of Chinese contemporary art and international art, and has held many important contemporary artists and international art exchange exhibitions. In 2015, the Art Museum of Beijing Academy of painting officially opened the unit of "Research on ancient Chinese painting and calligraphy". In order to show the unique charm of ancient Chinese painting and calligraphy to the public, the series has successively held special exhibitions of Ming and Qing Dynasties scenery, Fushan painting and calligraphy, Ming and Qing Dynasty figure painting and so on. As a result of organizing these high-quality art exhibitions, cooperating with relevant academic research and art education activities, the Art Museum of Beijing Academy of painting was awarded "National Key Art Museum" by the Ministry of culture in 2011.

According to the design requirements, the Art Museum of Beijing Academy of painting has three lighting levels: top light, wall washing light and focusing light. The lighting and angle can be adjusted according to different needs; any combination of exhibition wall and floor glass screen can create different exhibition space; constant temperature and humidity, central monitoring, automatic fire control and other hardware facilities basically meet the International Museum standards. There is a Qi Baishi Memorial Hall in the museum, which displays Qi Baishi's works collected by Beijing Academy of painting for a long time, and is divided into "stealing lives among grass" (grass insects), "flowers can explain words" (flowers), "innocent heirs" (fruits and vegetables), "grass mud village" (Shui nationality), "amusing eyes by mountain" (landscape), "self made manuscript" (characters), "Mei Ju Yuan Si" (Mei Lan Zhu Ju), "new poetry self writing"（ Ten series of special topics, including calligraphy, never return to the sword (three hundred stone seals) and "life is like a gift" (notes), are on display one after another. It has a simultaneous translation hall for hundreds of people, a variety of small and medium-sized conference halls, a variety of high-end VIP rooms with various decorative styles, a studio for super large-scale works creation, and a variety of academic exchange activities. In addition, there are also bookstores, cafes and other cultural and leisure places, fully reflecting the people-oriented cultural concept of modern art museum.
