Located on the North Bank of Beihai Park, Xitian Fanjing, also known as daxitan, is one of the most famous scenic spots in Beihai Park.
In the Ming Dynasty, it was a scripture factory and a Lama Temple in the Western Zen forest. After the expansion in 1759, it was renamed the West heaven Buddhist realm. In 1980, it was renovated and opened to the outside world.
