Wudaoliang town is under the jurisdiction of qumalai County, with military station, pumping station, locomotive depot, meteorological station, protection station, highway section and other national units. Like many long-distance highway relay stations, the Qinghai Tibet highway passes through the middle of the town, with restaurants, car repair shops and gas stations on both sides of the highway. It is generally believed that if the Wudaoliang pass can be safely passed, the Tanggula pass will not be a big problem.

The average temperature in January is - 16.2 ℃, the average temperature in July is 6.0 ℃, and the annual average temperature is - 5.1 ℃, which is the lowest in China. The annual precipitation is 301.4 mm.
