Yanshan Academy

Yanshan academy is located in the underground group of Yanbei village, duizi Qian Town, Suichuan County, Jiangxi Province. It faces the northeast from the southwest. It was first built in 1794 and completed in 1806. It covers an area of 3000 square meters and has a building area of 1982 square meters. It is a family academy built by Yifang, Yiyan and Yiqi, the three sons of Huang Youxiang, the founder of the local Huang family. It has a history of more than 200 years. Yanshan Academy was in disrepair for a long time, and some of them collapsed. But its architectural technology, painting art and preservation quantity are still the representative works of family private schools in Jiangxi and even in the whole country.

In June 2006, "Yanshan academy" was approved by Jiangxi Provincial People's government as the fifth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units.

One of the rarities of Yanshan academy is that there are hundreds of Chinese color paintings on the top beams and wallboards of the Academy; the other is an ancient well beside the Academy. Although the bottom of the well has been sealed up for a long time, it has never dried up. It is difficult to understand where the water comes from. The third is that there are many small rooms with scattered rules in the Academy. According to the structure of the corridors on both sides of the Academy, experts speculate that Yanshan academy implements class education From enlightenment education to county education. Rare in China, it is a representative work of architectural culture of family private schools in Jiangxi and even in China.

Local experts said that in order to restore the "Yanshan academy" to its original appearance, the county asked the provincial ancient architecture experts to formulate a maintenance plan. It took three years from the formulation of the plan, the establishment of the project to the bidding. Recently, it was completed and perfected, and all the original "Yanshan academy" was restored. The eaves of the whole building are tilted, the corridors turn back, the columns and beams are vertical and horizontal, and the momentum is extraordinary.

According to experts, the academy has three characteristics. One is the 100 Chinese color paintings on the top beams and wallboards of the Academy. After more than 200 years of wind and rain, they are still dazzling. The second is an old well beside the courtyard. Although the bottom of the well has been sealed up for a long time, it has never dried up. Third, there are many small rooms with scattered rules in the Academy. According to the structure of the corridors on both sides of the Academy, experts speculate that Yanshan academy implements class based education, from the enlightenment education to the county school. This is quite different from the way in which students from other academies gather in the classroom and listen to their teachers.
