Xiaopo Lake

Xiaopo lake is about 6km away from the northwest of Hudong sheep breeding farm and close to Qinghai Lake. It is an international wetland resource area and one of the national scenic spots of Qinghai Lake.

brief introduction

Xiaobohu wetland covers an area of about 2000 mu, mainly composed of rolling sand dunes, winding rivers and wilderness. In the 1990s, it was developed into a tourist attraction of Qinghai Lake. Due to over development, the ecological environment of Xiaopo lake was destroyed. With the efforts of herdsmen in Nanjia, after 20 years of governance, Xiaopo Lake restored to its original ecology. Xiaopohu protection station has been built in the local area.

Natural scenery

There are many springs at the source of Xiaopo lake, which do not freeze in winter. It is commonly known as "unfreezing spring", and also known as "spring head" by local people. In the scenic spot, there is the "black necked Crane" in Qinghai Province. It is said that master lianhuasheng (the founder of Ningma sect of Tibetan Buddhism) held a black necked Crane on his left and right shoulders to preach here. Seeing the desolation and drought of the place, he scattered 108 Buddhist beads in his hands and turned them into 108 springs. The spring water was sweet and fragrant. The desert was covered with green grass and fragrant flowers. The place where the springs gathered turned into a lake. Two black necked cranes flew to the lake to dispel evil spirits and protect the world Things. The beautiful legend adds a layer of mystery to Xiaopo lake and makes it enjoy a certain reputation. Here, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of spring, flowers, reeds, birds and gulls, naked carp, the charm of desert oasis, the strange sand mountains and the vast and powerful grassland.
