Memorial to the dead of the Soviet Red Army in Shenyang

The memorial of the Soviet Red Army was originally located in the center of the square of Shenyang south railway station, facing Zhonghua Road. Built in late August 1945 and completed in October of the same year, it is now a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit. Now the monument has been moved to No. 1, gongzhangzi, Lingdong street, Shenyang City, on the side of the cemetery of the martyrs who resist US aggression and aid Korea.

The memorial of the dead soldiers of the Soviet Red Army was built to commemorate the martyrs of the tank troops of the Soviet Red Army who died in the Shenyang war on August 24, 1946 in cooperation with our people's armed forces to defeat Japanese imperialism. It symbolizes the fighting friendship between the people of China and the Soviet Union.

The monument is a square column, built of granite strips, with a height of 24.27 meters. It is divided into three parts: the top, the body and the base. The height of the monument is 18.4 meters. On the front of the monument, there are three-dimensional five pointed stars with sickles and axes on the top, the national emblem of the Soviet Union on the middle, and the inscription in Russian that "glory belongs to the great Soviet army" on the bottom. The left and right sides of the monument are inlaid with bronze, one for each of the Soviet tank troops. On the top of the body of the tablet is a bronze badge with a sickle and axe, and on the bottom is the name of the martyr. A bronze tank model, 4.5 meters high, was placed on the top of the monument. The pedestal is square, with stone steps in the East and West, 1.37 meters high. It is surrounded by cubic stone columns with iron chains between them.
