Northeast Liberation Monument

Northeast Liberation Monument (Heping Square) is located at the intersection of Heping Street, Xinhua Road and Minzhu road in Heping District of Shenyang City. A monument marking the 40th anniversary of northeast liberation stands in the center of Heping square. Peace square, with a total area of 18521 square meters, was built in 1932. The Northeast Liberation Monument (peace square) is now a good place for the people of Shenyang and friends at home and abroad to visit and rest. It is also a revolutionary traditional education base for the people of Shenyang and even the three northeast provinces.

It was called Asahi square at that time, Chongde square under the rule of Kuomintang, and peace square after liberation Square.

Architectural features

The Northeast Liberation Monument is a triangular Pavilion shaped monument with a total height of 36.56 meters. The main monument, 25 meters high, is designed as a deformed triangle bullet. The body of the monument is decorated with white marble. Three connected English letters "V" are engraved on three sides of the lower part of the monument, and set off by 40 flying pigeons. V is the first letter of the word "victory" in English, and pigeon is the symbol of peace. The simple pattern means the dialectical relationship between war and peace, and the people's cherishing, expectation and good wishes for peace in the three provinces. On the outside of the main monument, there are three arch belts with the top connected and the bottom triangular around the main monument, symbolizing the joyful scene of the people of the three provinces singing and dancing, celebrating the victory together, and the reverence and mourning for the heroes.

Architectural features

Standing in the center of Heping square, Heping District, Shenyang, the Northeast Liberation Monument is a masterpiece of perfect combination of ideological content and art. The monument against the blue sky and white clouds is tall, majestic and solemn.

In 1978, the square was afforested and covered. After several transformations, the square is an open circular ring Island, with vehicles running around the ring island in all directions and natural diversion. In the center of the square is a six petal flower bed, with six spruce trees surrounded by cannas; it is surrounded by four fan-shaped fences and four green belts. At that time, peace square was a place for people to gather here for rest, walking and enjoying the cool.
