Shitaizi mountain city (Qipanshan scenic area)

Shitaizishan city site is located in the North Bank of Qipanshan reservoir in Huishan scenic area, 35 kilometers northeast of Shenyang City. It is adjacent to Tieling in the north and Fushun in the southeast. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Shitaizi mountain city is an important mountain city built by Koguryo when it occupied eastern Liaoning Province. It is a closed stone mountain city built artificially with the help of the natural situation of the mountain. The plane of the mountain city is an irregular triangle with a perimeter of 1384.1 meters. There are 10 horse faces and 4 gates around the wall. The mountain is high in the West and low in the East, wide in the South and narrow in the north, with relatively high four corners. The wall section of the mountain city is in the shape of ladder. The inside and outside walls are built with regular shaped wedge-shaped stones, and the inside walls are prismatic stone inserts. Around the inner wall, there are rammed earth slope protection extending to the city, and some slope protection stones.
