Tiexi stadium is located in Chonggong Street (formerly Yuhong nursery) of Shenyang City, covering an area of 140000 square meters and a building area of 35000 square meters. Now it is the home of Liaoning Hongyun, a Chinese Super League team. Liaoning Hongyun team has been taking this stadium as its home since 2008.

Stadium history

The predecessor of the Tiexi stadium is the old Tiexi stadium, which is located on Shenliao road. As Shenyang became the soccer sub field of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, Shenyang built the new Tiexi stadium at the new site of heavy industry Street while building the Five Mile River stadium in Shenyang Olympic Sports Center.

In March 2007, Tiexi stadium was listed as the reserve site for the Olympic football match. The government of Tiexi District invested more and increased the corresponding facilities to make the layout according to the requirements of the Olympic Organizing Committee. In April 2008, officials of the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games fully affirmed the stadium facilities after their inspection. On June 2, 2008, the new Tiexi stadium was completed. And in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games successfully completed the task as a training ground.

The first official match in Tiexi stadium was the Super League of China Football Association on August 29, 2008. Liaoning Hongyun team, who was in charge of Tiexi stadium, defeated Changsha Jinde team 1-0.

It's only about 10 minutes' drive from the exits of Shenyang Dalian Expressway and Beijing Shenyang Expressway. It's very convenient for foreign fans to come to Shenyang to watch football.
