Ice lake

Yubeng ice lake is a dark green Haizi formed by the melting snow water of Meili Snow Mountain Glacier, which is the main water source of Yubeng Village.

Standing on the hillside beside the ice lake, the green water reflects the blue sky and white clouds, surrounded by continuous white snow peaks.

Starting from the base camp, you can climb along the narrow and steep path to the ice lake in about an hour.

Because the glacial lake is formed by glacial melt water, there will be avalanches from time to time, so don't rush close to the glacial melt water.

Ice lake

Yubeng ice lake is about 3800 meters above sea level, about an hour away from the base camp. The ice lake is a dark green Haizi formed by the melting snow water of Meili Snow Mountain Glacier, which is called the holy lake of Meili Snow Mountain.

Introduction to scenic spots

Along the camp side of the stream upstream, over a large rock waterfall, a small alpine ice lake appeared in front of us. It is as green as emerald, holy and quiet, can not help exclamation.

Glacial lake is a typical glacial lake, which is formed by the erosion of the earth's surface by glacial movement. On one side of the glacial lake is the ridge where we are, and on the other side is the vertical rock wall and the glaciers almost hanging in the air. The blue glaciers and the green lake water interact with each other. You can reach the main peak of kawabog by climbing up the cliff. The climbing team climbed up the cliff on the side of the ice lake in those years.

The guide pointed to a place we couldn't see above the cliff and said it was there that the climbing team was killed. Huge glaciers and snow will continue to fall from the cliff into the glacial lake, thus replenishing the lake; other glaciers will spread to the lake, which is spectacular.

We sit quietly by the ice lake, looking up at the blue sky, snow mountains and glaciers. When we are thirsty, we drink a mouthful of pure lake water. The idea of staying here forever grows from the bottom of our hearts.

Itinerary traffic

The journey is no less difficult than entering Yubeng. It takes a whole day. You can rent mules. Yubeng's mule horse farm is located between SHANGXIA village and Xiacun village. You don't pay attention to the cost, but mules can only ride to Xiaonong base camp 10 kilometers away. It's easy to get lost at the beginning. It's suggested to ask the inn younger brother to be the guide, about 100 yuan, shared by fellow donkey friends.

There is a rest station on the way. Xiaonong base camp is located on a relatively flat land in the mountains. It was the base camp for the Sino Japanese joint mountaineering team to climb Meili Snow Mountain in 1991. This attempt in that year ended with the lives of 17 warriors.

The stumps around the rest station are said to be the witness of the great avalanche. Since the base camp, there have been no tall trees. There are many wild fruits like thorns, including Lycium barbarum, all the way into the alpine meadow.

If the weather is good, there will be a mobile phone signal in that section. When you climb the last steep slope and stand on a huge rock, you will see the ice lake hidden in your boudoir.

Around the manidui by the lake, you can walk to the bottom of the glacier and touch the melting Millennium ice and snow, but always pay attention to the movement above your head, because there are often small avalanches. Therefore, in front of the holy Meili Snow Mountain, please pray first and then get close to it.
