The Yalu River Estuary Wetland in Dandong is the second largest wetland in China. One of the eight bird migration routes in the world passes through it. At present, 244 species of birds have been recorded in Yalu River estuary wetland, including 45 species of national key protected animals. Every March, migratory birds begin to migrate northward from the southern hemisphere. From April to July, millions of birds migrated from Siberia in Russia, Alaska in the United States to Australia and New Zealand to live and breed in the Yalu River estuary wetland.
