Songhua River

--The Songhua River originates from the Tianchi Lake of Changbai Mountain. Like a green ribbon, it runs through the whole city of Jilin City. Among the major river basins in China, it ranks third only to the Yangtze River and the Yellow River. It is one of the seven major rivers in China and the largest tributary of Heilongjiang in China.

--From the end of December to the beginning of February every year, the embankments on both sides of the Songhua River in Jilin City are a good place to watch rime.
