Guozijian is located in Guozijian Street (formerly known as Chengxian Street) in Andingmen, Beijing, adjacent to Confucius Temple and Yonghe palace. It is the highest administrative institution and the highest institution of education established by the state in yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Confucius Temple in Beijing is a part of Guozijian. It was originally called Guozijian Confucius Temple or Jingshi Confucius Temple. It was the place where the emperor held the national ceremony of offering sacrifices to Confucius.
