--Ten thousand Buddha top is the highest peak of Emei, and one of the best places to enjoy the four great scenic spots of Emei. There are ten thousand Buddha Pavilion, Alpine Rhododendron forest, black bear Valley, fairy head and other scenic spots.

--If you stay on Mount Emei, you can come here in the morning to watch the sunrise, the sun will turn the sea of clouds red, and then slowly jump out of the sky.

--Wanfo Pavilion is very particular about striking the clock. It often strikes 108 times: one time in the morning and one time in the evening, 18 times in a tight way, 18 times in a slow way, and 18 times in a slow way. This is repeated twice, a total of 108 times.

--The best time to watch the "Ten Thousand Buddhas" is 9:00-10:00 and 15:00-16:00. However, due to some reasons, Wanfo Ding has been temporarily closed.

Ten thousand Buddha Summit

Ten thousand Buddha summit is the highest peak of Mount Emei, with an altitude of 3099 meters. It is towering on the top of "Daguang Mingshan". It is the highest altitude and the best natural ecological protection heritage site of China's four famous Buddhist mountains.

The restored Ten Thousand Buddhas Pavilion is majestic and resplendent, with the strictness of the temple and the beauty of the landscape, giving people a simple, novel and cordial impression. The pavilion is 21 meters high and has four main floors. The "wish ancient bell" hanging on the top of the building looks solemn and dignified.

Features of scenic spots

It is a primeval forest ecotourism area in Emei Mountain, with wanfoge, Alpine Rhododendron forest, heixionggou, xianrenhuitou and other scenic spots. Wanfo Pavilion is 21 meters high and majestic. The "wish ancient bell" hanging on the top of the building is solemn and dignified.

Wanfuding scenic area has abundant vegetation, towering ancient trees, wild vines, numerous birds and animals, and the original landscape is well preserved. From the top, the sky is high and the clouds are light, the peaks are undulating, the Gongga snow mountain is shining in the sky, and the big and small Wawu Mountains lie in the clouds; looking back at the Jinding, the cliff is steep and majestic, and the Huazang temple is resplendent. Watch the sunrise and sunset, feel the rotation of heaven and earth, but I am still; look at the sea of clouds and the light of Buddha, experience the fairyland and endless dreams in the world. The scenery is different throughout the year: azalea in spring, birds in summer, red leaves in autumn and Yushu in winter.

There is a copper hall on the top of Ten Thousand Buddhas. The side of the hall can see the four wonders of the golden roof: sunrise, sea of clouds, Buddha light and magic lamp. When you look down from Jinding in the morning, you can see clouds like the sea, waves like rolling, and calm waves. It's really fantastic.

On a clear night without moonlight, sometimes there are firelights, one bright and one dark, of different sizes. This is the wonder of Emei - the magic lamp. And the most magical is "Buddha light". When the wind is quiet and the sun is bright, after two or three o'clock in the afternoon, when you look down on the sacrificial rock in Jinding, you can sometimes see a colorful halo floating in the clouds, and your own figures are placed in the halo, and the shadows move with each other. No matter how many people, what people see is their own shadow.

In general, the striking bell of the Ten Thousand Buddhas Pavilion strikes once in the morning and once in the evening. Each time, it strikes 18 times tightly, 18 times slowly, and 18 times again. This is repeated twice, a total of 108 times. Its meaning is to respond to 12 months, 24 solar terms, 72 phenology (5 days for a period), a total of 108. It means to symbolize the reincarnation of one year, everlasting, and praying for the peace of the country and the people and the happiness of the world.

In Buddhism, it is also said to eliminate 108 kinds of troubles, that is, the so-called "hearing the bell, the troubles are clear, the wisdom is long, and the Bodhisattva is born.". Usually ring the bell 3, 6, 9 can, pray for the health of the whole family, wish, fortune, all the best!

Standing on the top of Mount Emei, facing the ten sages in all directions, striking the bell at the gate of the blissful world with the sound of a bell to convey a beautiful wish.

history

Historical records: during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, monk Tong Hui led his disciples to build Qingliang nunnery, which was initially named the blissful hall. Soon after, it was renamed the Wanfo nunnery with the idea of "the residence of the sages, surrounded by Ten Thousand Buddhas". Because of natural and man-made disasters, it has long disappeared.

Traffic information

Due to the virgin forest, visitors are not allowed to walk to Wanfo top. You can take a monorail sightseeing bus, starting from Jinding, passing through Qianfo Ding and ending at Wanfo Ding. The whole journey is more than 2000 meters. It runs for 10 minutes one way. The rated capacity of each train is 60 people, and the round trip is 60 yuan.

Tip: the monorail sightseeing bus is out of service for maintenance, and the re operation time has not been determined, so Wanfo top is temporarily unable to arrive.
