Alxa Palace

Alxa Palace (Alxa Museum) is located in the north of Wangfu street, the old city of BAYANHOT Town, where Alxa League palace is located in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a Beijing style quadrangle building group with Ming and Qing styles and a Garden Temple in the summer palace, so it is called "little Beijing".

Alxa Palace

Alashan palace is located on the South Bank of Houhai in Shichahai. On the east side of Gongwang palace, there was No.1 Jiadao of sanzuoqiaofu, now No.7 Yuzi Hutong. There is a small-scale but very exquisite and characteristic mansion. This is the Alxa palace in Beijing, which was not included in the current map of Beijing and was not sold or demolished by its descendants after the 1911 Revolution. In different historical periods, this palace was once known as luowangfu, tawangfu and dawangfu. It was built in 1704, the 43rd year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, because the third generation Prince of Alxa of Mongolia, Lobsang Daoerji, made great contributions in the war of pacifying Xinjiang, Tibet and Qinghai. Now it has become a cultural tourist attraction.

Architectural features

This is a Chinese and Western Palace, which is divided into East and west parts according to the central axis. The east courtyard is mainly a small Western-style building, surrounded by some Chinese style bungalows. There is a Square Pavilion at the entrance. In front of the Square Pavilion, there is a concrete slope, which can be used by people or cars. Enter a small courtyard through the Square Pavilion. There are Begonia trees in the courtyard. The flowers are in clusters. Further inside is the hall, which is a cool room with front porch and back mansion. In summer, my wife (I call my grandmother my wife, who is Fujin of tawangbrijara, the eighth generation Prince of alashanzazazak) lived here. Through the hall is the small courtyard in front of the building. The courtyard is planted with different trees and plants, which still grow very luxuriantly. In the center of the cross corridor stands a bronze statue, which we call "bronze man". There are little angels with wings on them. There are roses planted in front of the building. When the roses are in full bloom, my wife asks someone to pick them up and make them into rose stuffing, and then send them to the snack shop to make rose cakes. Enter the small building. My parents live on the left side of the first floor. The living room is covered with purple carpet brought by Alashan's hometown. We all call it "Purple carpet house". On the south side of the building is a glass porch. The three facades and the top are all made of glass. It can receive sufficient sunshine in winter, so it is very warm. Outside the glass porch is a terrace, which we call "the roof". My aunt often organizes dances on this roof. All the people who come here are students from Fu Jen University.

Tourism characteristics

The doors and windows of this small building are made of precious wood from the Philippines. Some of the windows have been changed into plastic steel windows by people living here, but some old residents insist on keeping the original wooden windows. Behind the building are the ancestral hall and the storehouse. The memorial tablets of our ancestors are worshipped in the ancestral hall. Every new year's day, the wife leads the whole family to make a grand sacrifice.

The southeast corner of the east courtyard is the kitchen, and there is a hanging furnace in the middle of the courtyard to roast whole sheep. The hanging furnace is made of bricks and can hold a whole sheep with its head raised. Roast whole sheep is the most exquisite cooking skill of Mongolian meat food.

The houses in the West courtyard are all Chinese style buildings, and there is a row of pigeon buildings on the west side of the courtyard. There are many mulberry trees and Begonia trees in this courtyard, also known as "Begonia courtyard". The north wall of Begonia courtyard has a vertical flower gate, through which you can enter a courtyard. In 1931, the Nanjing National Government approved to retain the old Mongolian system and inherit the pro throne. My uncle dalizaya was appointed as Alashan and shuote banner zasak, and got married in this courtyard. My aunt is Jin Yuncheng, the daughter of the former Baile zaetao in Qing Dynasty. Later, my uncle returned to Alashan to take office, and the courtyard was rented to others. Before we went back to our hometown (about 1946), my wife rented the small building of Dongyuan to Furen University Kindergarten.

This palace is small in area, with only over 100 houses. Although it is not as grand as other palace and does not strictly follow the regulations of Qing Dynasty, it is small and natural.
