Taipingtun

From eagle mouth to moldoga National Forest Park, it will take more than an hour to walk through the Great Xing'an Mountains. The road is full of dirt roads and the scenery is ordinary, but a place called Taipingtun on the way gives you a little surprise. Taipingtun is a small village located in the depth of Daxinganling. There are few people in the village, and the village is very quiet. It is such a peaceful paradise that attracts us to stop and take photos. Taipingtun

Taipingtun, founded in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, is located in the main traffic road of Hunan and Guangxi. It was named niuweidong in ancient times, and was renamed "Taiping" in the early Republic of China, which means a better life and shared peace. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the village flourished due to the contacts of merchants. There were fairs, Guandi temples and ancient theatres near the village, which once had the reputation of "small tea city". The ancient dwellings in this village have typical characteristics of Ming and Qing Dynasty dwellings in northern Guangxi: green brick and black tile, sloping roof, horse head wall, cornice, painted building, carved window, unique structure, row upon row. More than 300 years ago, there are still relatively intact ones. Taipingtun belongs to Taiping Village, Jiahui Town, Gongcheng Yao Autonomous County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

In December 2018, the Ministry of housing and urban rural development, together with the Ministry of culture and tourism, the State Administration of cultural relics, the Ministry of finance, the Ministry of natural resources and the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas, proposed to include Taipingtun in the list of the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages on the basis of recommendation from all provinces (autonomous regions and cities) and review by the expert committee.

On June 6, 2019, it will be included in the list of the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages.
