Shuiqinggou Park

Shuiqinggou park is located at 206 siliu South Road, Shibei District, Qingdao city. It is adjacent to residential area in the East, siliu South Road in the west, Huaiyang road in the South and Kaiping road in the north. In 2005, the park covers an area of 21000 square meters (formerly 22000 square meters), with 4 employees and 30000 annual visitors.

Historical evolution

The site of the garden was originally woodland. In 1956, it began to build a small garden, planting trees and flowers, and installing stone tables and benches, which was under the management of Sifang district. In 1962, the forest terrain was transformed, the green area was expanded, the tourist road was built, cedars, cherry blossoms, peach trees were planted, stone tables and benches were added, and toilets were built. In 1963, it was transferred to Cangkou district for management and was subordinate to Cangkou park. Then it was improved year by year. Expand the water surface, pave the cement block tour road, plant more trees and shrubs, build long corridors, walls, and erect door stacks. Shuiqinggou park is one of the early parks formed after the founding of the people's Republic of China. In 1983, the Municipal Bureau of landscape architecture and the Municipal Women's Federation jointly launched nearby factories to raise funds to build children's amusement projects and "mother daughter love" sculptures, and built square steel lattice walls along siliu South Road. The park continued to improve. After the adjustment in 1994, it was put under the management of Sifang district. In 2000, Sifang district government invested in the transformation of the park, with more than 3000 square meters of new green space and 395 Metasequoia glyptostroboides planted. In 2005, the green line of the park was set at 21000 square meters.

Mother daughter love sculpture

Located in the middle of the garden, it was built in 1983. White granite, mother and daughter sitting hand in hand on the base of granite.

The Long Corridor

Located in the northwest of the garden, the columns and trusses are of reinforced concrete structure. There are benches between the columns, which are open on all sides, and the surrounding plants such as vines are planted.

Green planting

There were Robinia pseudoacacia and other trees in the early woodland of the park, and flower shrubs were arranged in the sightseeing road and scenic spot when the park was built. The main tree species in the park are cedar, black pine, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Platanus acerifolia, cherry blossom, peach, rose, Cymbidium, etc. It covers an area of 10000 square meters. In 2005, there were more than 50 species of trees and shrubs and more than 10000 trees in the park. The ratio of trees to shrubs was 1:2.5, and that of evergreen trees to deciduous trees was 1:1.5.
