Xiaodianhu Forest Park is located in the northeast of Tuncun community in Tongli Town, adjacent to Zhouzhuang, a famous water town in the south of the Yangtze River in the East, Tongli, a millennium old town in the west, and Chenghu Lake in the north.

Xiaodianhu Forest Park is about 4000 mu (including more than 2000 mu of water at the north and south ends). Since 1969, afforestation has been started. After 30 years of planting, management and protection, nearly 500 mu of forest land has been formed, mainly composed of Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Taxodium ascendens and Phyllostachys pubescens. In recent years, it has gradually developed and introduced nearly 200 mu of economic forests, fruits and flowers such as Zaoyuan bamboo, Ginkgo biloba, Baisha loquat, flowers and seedlings, as well as nearly 500 mu of mulberry and grain fields and nearly 500 mu of fish ponds. The dense green cages, simple and quiet nature of the woodland attract a variety of wild animals such as oriole, egret and hare to rest in the woodland. The park has flat terrain, vertical and horizontal canals and ponds, dense paths and grid network, convenient external transportation, surrounded by lakes and farmland, and elegant natural environment.

Development history

Xiaodianhu Forest Park was approved by Jiangsu Provincial Department of agriculture and forestry in May 1998 as xiaodianhu Forest Park in Wujiang, Jiangsu Province. In the first half of 2001, it was jointly named "Baijia ecological village" by Jiangsu Provincial Department of environmental protection and Department of agriculture and forestry. In the future, we will pay more attention to the optimization of environment and ecology, and build a forest park with plain characteristics and connotation integrating forest landscape, pastoral landscape, water network landscape and natural landscape.

Main attractions

The planned Xiaodian Lake Forest Park will make full use of the existing plants and water resources, appropriately transform the terrain, increase ornamental trees and flowers, highlight local characteristics, arrange tourism projects that adapt to the environment, and build the park into a forest landscape. In addition to retaining the original trees, some water-resistant plants, such as Taxodium ascendens and Sapium sebiferum, will be added beside the water, and the pastoral landscape will be combined with the landscape Local characteristics, the development of sightseeing agriculture, in the form of silk reeling and rush processing workshops as the theme, nearby game hall, farmhouse, water boatman, water view, mainly with a large reed to build a labyrinth.
