In order to commemorate Bai Juyi, the great poet of Tang Dynasty, who built Qilishan pond in Suzhou, the Baigong Temple of Tang Shaofu was built in the Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty and later destroyed in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. As the first scenic spot to enter Shantang, it was rebuilt in 2006. It shows Bai Juyi's life scenes in Shantang and Suzhou in the form of stone carvings.
