Former site of Mexican Embassy
The former site of the Mexican Embassy is located at 15 Tianzhu Road, Gulou District, Nanjing. On February 26, 1946, the Treaty of friendship between China and Mexico was exchanged at the Ministry of foreign affairs of Mexico, and embassies and ambassadors were set up.
On August 28, 1947, the Mexican government appointed aguilan as the first ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to China, and rented No. 15 Tianzhu Road in Nanjing as the site of the embassy.
Wang Changchi, an employee of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the national government, bought 7200 square meters of land before 1937 under the pseudonym of Wang Nianzu, with a construction area of 1951 square meters. There are 12 Western-style two-story garden buildings with brick wood concrete structure, 2 Western-style bungalows and 2 toilets, with a total of 26 rooms. The usable area of the houses is 912 square meters, and the ancillary area is 310 square meters.
The Mexican Embassy was rent back in 1950. Now it is the residence for the cadres of the headquarters of the Nanjing Military Region.
