Alishan region is located across the three zones of heat, warmth and temperature in Taiwan's forests. It is rich in forest resources, especially cypress, which is famous at home and abroad. Sabina chinensis, Platycladus formosana, Tsuga formosana, Tsuga Tsuga and Pinus armandii are known as Alishan five trees. Cryptomeria fortunei is the most successful alien tree species for artificial afforestation in this area. Along the forest railway, the mountains and valleys are covered with trees, and the trees become a spectacle. The cherry blossom season in this area is from the middle of March to the middle of April every year. Other flowers, such as Rhododendron mori, Photinia, digitalis and so on, also began to open. In addition, Taiwan yiyelan nature reserve is also worth appreciating.

Alishan Forest Recreation area is located in Alishan Township, Jiayi County, which is a branch of Yushan Mountain range. It is composed of 18 mountains, and faces the main peak of Yushan Mountain with Lanxi across the Chen River, with a total area of 1400 hectares. Surrounded by mountains, emerald mountains and towering trees, it is very magnificent. A Zou chieftain, abari, once came here alone to hunt. After returning home with a full load, he often brought his people here. To remember him, he named this place after his name. In addition to rich and precious natural resources, the park also retains the cultural resources of the Zou people who lived in the tableland for more than 200 years. It is also connected with Yushan National Park due to the new Zhongheng highway. It is a forest journey with both knowledge and sensibility. There is a saying circulating in Taiwan: "if you don't get to Mt. Ali, you don't know the beauty, greatness and treasure of Taiwan." Although these words are exaggerated, the majestic momentum, magnificent scenery and rich resources of Mt. Ali really deserve its reputation. The so-called "Alishan", one of the "eight scenic spots in Taiwan", does not only refer to one mountain, but also refers to the Alishan scenic spot, which spans Nantou and Jiayi counties, including 18 mountains, including dawuluan, Zhushan, Tashan and duigaoyue. In the area, there are many peaks and ravines. There are not only dangerous cliffs, but also beautiful valleys and waterfalls. The mountains are full of light and haze, and the forests and springs are beautiful. It is a rare scenic spot in the world.

It is said that 250 years ago, there was a Zou chieftain named abari who came here alone to hunt. After returning home with a full load, he often brought his people here. In order to remember him, the people named him after him. As a matter of fact, Mt. Ali is composed of 18 high mountains, which are the branches of Yushan Mountain range and face the main peak of Yushan Mountain across Tongfu river. Now, the new Zhongheng highway has connected Mt. Ali with Yushan scenic spot. Alishan Forest Recreation area is 2216 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains and cool climate. With sunrise, sea of clouds, sunset, forest and mountaineering Forest Railway as the five wonders of Alishan, it is famous at home and abroad. The cultural resources of Zou aborigines increase their tourism charm.

2. Shenmu line: one way full ticket NT, half ticket NT, run irregularly (20 or more tourists can drive the shuttle bus).

Self driving

Go down Jiayi interchange Road, follow 159 county road to Jiayi City, then follow wufengnan (North) road or Mituo road to connect with No. 18 provincial road, then follow the pointer to reach Alishan via touchou, Lutou and Shizhuo.

Holiday - a full ticket of $200 and a half ticket of $100. Groups with more than 20 people can buy a group discount ticket of $150. (the ticket contains travel safety insurance, please keep it properly). Non holiday - full ticket 150 yuan, half ticket - 100 yuan (ticket includes travel safety insurance, please keep it properly).

What's new

Jiayi forest management office, the management organization of Alishan scenic spot in Taiwan, recently announced that in order to alleviate the impact of daily crowds and traffic on the traffic, environment and tourism quality of the park, it plans to implement a new measure of opening 6000 group tourists to the park every day from March 1 this year. Jiayi forest management office will open online booking application from January 21. The trial period will be from January 21 to February 28. The application will be formally implemented from March 1. Group tourists need to apply in advance before they can enter the park.
