Bailixia scenic spot is located in the northeast edge of Xuanhan County, bordering Chengkou County, Wanyuan county and Kaixian County, 110 kilometers away from the county. The scenic area consists of Baili gorge and Jiangkou lake, with a total area of 105 square kilometers. The Baili Gorge Scenic area covers 65 square kilometers, with an altitude of 452-2148 meters and a gorge length of 140 kilometers. Bailixia has a unique mountain, clear river, numerous karst caves, many animals and rare plants; it is surrounded by mountains and water, with a line of deep valleys and a cluster of peaks into the clouds. There are ten scenic spots, namely, animal gathering, fairy rock, Guanyin cave, Nantianmen, Erlong waterfall, laohuangshan, rhinoceros moon watching, yixiantian, Panlong cave and rooster crowing. They have their own characteristics and complement each other, forming a perfect and harmonious whole of 300li gorge.

Development history

Bailixia has a long history and many historic sites. Before the Qin Dynasty and the early Han Dynasty, general fan Kuai stationed his troops and defeated the Chu army, leaving such precious sites as jiangjunping, paomaliang, shuanmashi, Datong dangerous road and shizhandao. At the end of the Western Han Dynasty, empress Fu took refuge and fled to Bailixia, where the prince was born. Later, she ascended the throne and exterminated the enemy. She built Niangniang Temple in Hailuo mountain, where there is still a part of Niangniang Temple. In the last years of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Xianzhong, the leader of the peasants, led the uprising army to build a mountain stronghold on both sides of the canyon. In the first year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty, Wang sanhuai, a farmer in Taohua Township, led the white lotus sect to rise, and joined the Hubei White Lotus sect army led by Wang Conger in Baima temple. In 1928, Wang Weizhou and Li Jiajun led the peasant uprising and founded the eastern Sichuan guerrilla army. In 1933, they became the Red Army 33. More than 10000 Xuanhan people joined the Red Army. The ruins of the Red Army are all over the county. The fortifications of the Red Army in the past are still left in Bailixia.

Baili gorge is a scenic spot with beautiful mountains and rivers, beautiful scenery, natural resources and historical sites. It was named as one of the first batch of prefecture level scenic spots by Daxian district administration in 1989. It has also been approved as a national AAAAA scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration.

The scenic spots are "gathering of all kinds of animals", with different expressions; "fairy rock" is full of fairy maids; "Guanyin cave" is full of lotus stands; "Nantianmen" is surrounded by clouds; "Erlong waterfall" is magnificent; "laohuangshan" is full of strange scenery; "rhinoceros look at the moon" is lifelike; the top ten scenic spots have their own characteristics, and they complement each other It forms a perfect and harmonious whole of Bailixia scenic spot.

Jiangkou lake is located in the suburb of Xuanhan county. It is the reservoir of Jiangkou power station where Qianhe River, Houhe River and Zhouhe River meet. The water area is 20 square kilometers and the storage capacity is 3.2 billion cubic meters. The lake is wide, with beautiful scenery and crisscross harbors. There are Yunwu village, jiwo stone, Sandou gorge, Puguang temple, Huangshi white crane forest and other scenic spots.
